Dome Waterproofing
and Tile Replacement (2004). Helpern Architects.

Waterproofing
of 100' diameter dome, and installation of 30,000 custom-fabricated
clay tiles. Dome was waterproofed with an epoxy-based Kemper system
over the existing asbestos-contaminated substrate. Abatement
of existing roof materials and re-waterproofing of each section
was phased in concurrent, overnight shifts. Tiles were graduated
and mounted with hurricane clips to a Newport strap system. The
mixture of the tile colors was controlled to match the appearance
of the original tiles. $2,900,000
